3 Braid Styles You'll Want For This Summer

Okay long hair friends, where ya at? Who is with me on keeping summer simple and fun? Coming to you from yours truly Pinterest, I've found 3 of the cutest summer braid trends that will keep all that hair out of your face when the nice summer breeze is blowing or when that hot air is making you crazy enough to want to chop all your hair off.

1. Braid Bun Up-Do  - who doesn't love a good messy bun? Throw a nice braid on the front to keep it all out of your way.

2. Beach-y Braid- similar to the bun braid, just throw a simple braid to the side and tie the rest back into a low bun.

3. The Side Braid- this one may take a little more talent but for all of you french braiders out there this one is for you! Braid it all back and out of your way!

Summer Travels

As I look forward to our summer travels in the upcoming month of July I look back on pictures from last year. As an excursion off our Albania mission trip we spend 3 days in Rome and I NEVER SHARED PHOTOS. What?! So in honor of upcoming travels here are some pictures from last summer's travels.

Lunch In The Summer

So I'm no food blogger (or food photographer) but I found this recipe when I went to a cute cafe called Toute Suite. Avocado and chicken salad are two of my favs so why not put the chicken salad in the avocado?? Genius! So since then I've resorted to making this super simple and relatively healthy lunch quite often. So I encourage you to try it! Also, on a side note I made my first smoothie today for my hubby. Go new blenders!

What you need:

Mayo

Onion

Chicken *cook your own if you have the time

Celery

Avocados *1 for each person

I don't use specific measurements but here is a good estimate:

1 stalk of celery chopped
1/2 of a small onion chopped
1/2 Cup mayo (add more if too dry)
Pepper to taste
Thyme to taste
Paprika to taste

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl

Cut each avocado in half and spoon in chicken salad! Top with pepper if you'd like and enjoy! 

Oh and here is a cutie drinking a smoothie!
